Why are you a part of the local food community?
I am passionate about providing local, organic, GMO free food for my family. Food that is responsibly grown and raised and has not traveled long distances is healthier and tastes better. I love meeting and talking to the farmers who grow our food, and think it is important to support them so that we can continue to have access to locally grown food.
Why do you support WFM?
Simply answered, I love the Westport Farmer’s Market. The WFM has done a fantastic job of creating a community that brings together farmers, chefs, local businesses and like-minded people. Every week I look forward to spending time, shopping, meeting up with friends, and having lunch at the market.
What’s the freshest thing in your kitchen right now?
It would be some warm & crusty Wave Hill bread
If you could become a vegetable, which would you choose?
A beet. It has a strikingly vibrant color, is delicious in salads and makes a great pickle.
