Who are you? 

I’m Bill Taibe, Chef and Owner, LeFarm & The Whelk.

Why are you a part of the local food community?  

I own two restaurants that are working to help grow our local food system.  I see a real opportunity in this area to build a strong community centered around food.  We have the resources to do it.

Why do you support WFM?

It is the epicenter of our local food movement.  I love everything it stands for. Small business, passionate, dedicated hard working people who are rewarded with a forum to show their art.

What’s the freshest thing in your kitchen right now?  

Native strawberries from Fort Hill Farm.

If you could become a vegetable, which would you choose?  

A bean. I could be eaten fresh, dried, frozen or canned. I would also be a seed of hope for new growth, and my stalk –if allowed–could grow tall into the sky and above the clouds.
