Our criteria in selecting vendors
Quality : Product tastes great!
Local : CT Grown or within 100 miles
Integrity : we choose farms that only sell what they grow
Sustainable : we favor farms that practice good land stewardship and responsible animal husbandry
Esprit de Corps : reliable, collaborative, engaged and engaging vendors

Farms
All farms must abide by our producer-only standards, exceptions are sometimes made in order to encourage diversity, however, all exceptions must first be approved by market management and items clearly marked with the farm of origin.

Sellers of Prepared Foods & Baked Goods
We occasionally invite vendors of prepared foods to join our markets, in choosing these vendors we heavily favor small, artisan producers who utilize local, seasonal ingredients purchased from our own farmers.

As an established market, with many vendors returning each season, we only gain openings through attrition. In filling vacancies we select vendors that will enrich the market with products not already available. Below is our current wish list, please apply if you have a product on the list.

  • What About Crafts?
First and foremost, we are a food market and only allow the sale of crafts among our vendors whose primary sales are derived from their own farm products. Though philosophically we support local craftspeople we must reserve space in our markets for the sale of food. We do not seek vendors for the sale of apparel, jewelry, cosmetics and bath products.
