Westport Canned & Fresh Food Drive, July 31 Last year's once-a-month canned and fresh food drives were a great success and we wish to thank all of our donors and volunteers. This year, the situation at food pantries has worsened. Due to the downturn in our economy and rising fuel costs, donations to food banks have dwindled while more and more families find it difficult to keep food on the table. You can help prevent our neighbors from going hungry by making donations of canned and packaged foods at the market on Thursday June 26. We'll also accept donations of fresh fruit and vegetables purchased at our market. Click here for a list of items most needed by local food banks.
